common questions

Should I wait until I lose some weight before scheduling my shoot?

Absolutely not!  Here’s the thing–you can kill yourself for a month crash-dieting for your boudoir shoot and lose all your awesome curves (if you’re anything like me, you lose it first in the place you LAST want to lose weight) or you can come as you are and be shown that you are sexy and gorgeous and fantastic RIGHT NOW.

What should I bring?

The first rule is to never worry about bringing too much.  When in doubt, bring it!  Bring cute bras, undies, nighties, sockings, heels, necklaces, earrings, your guy’s favorite shirt or an item you steal from him for the day to incorporate as a prop (instrument,  hat, etc).

Where will the shoot be?

The most common locations for boudoir shoots are your home or a hotel.   If you’d like to use a hotel, you can usually arrange for a great discount if you just book it for a few hours on a weekday morning.  (You’ll feel a little shady, but it’s worth it!)   Alternatively, you can book a spot during one of our Boudoir Extravaganza events that includes full makeup by our favorite make-up artist as well as snacks, drinks, and the hotel room.

Will I have to get naked?

Nope!  You know how in Anchorman Ron Burgandy signs off every broadcast with “Stay Classy, San Diego!”  That’s a good motto.  I like for the images to stay in the PG-13 range.  I frequently use poses that “create the illusion of nudity” where all you do is slip down your bra straps!   And if you’d like to capture a few nude poses, you can be comfortable knowing that it will be handled in a tasteful way!

How sexy will the photos be?

My style is not overtly sexual.  The images will make your dad blush if he finds them, but he won’t need to gouge his eyes out.  The photos on this site are representative of what you’ll see in your own gallery–I’m not holding anything back!  So if you’re hoping for photos that are racier than what you’ve seen on the site, I won’t be the best photographer for you.  My focus throughout the shoot is to create beautiful classy images that show off your best features!

Will you put my pictures on this site?

Only if you say it’s okay!  Your images will be private unless you allow me to share them.

How should I do my make-up?  Are there any special things I should do on the day of the shoot?

Be sure to moisturize.  Colorado loves to show up in photos via dry skin and lips, so make sure your lips and skin are well moisturized the day of your shoot.   (The one caveat to this is to choose your lotions carefully–stay away from anything sparkley or with an SPF–neither of these types of moisturizers photograph well.)

With makeup and boudoir shoots, sometimes more is more.   Go easy on your foundation, powder, and concealer, but this is the time to go for it on your eye make-up and lipstick.  And if you want to add some false lashes to the mix, they look fantastic!  Drama is in!

I’d prefer not to do my own make-up.  Do you offer make-up?

There are two ways to add make-up to your boudoir package.  If you arrange a boudoir party with at least five women, I’ll provide the make-up artist!  You can also sign up for one of our Boudoir Extravaganza events–make-up is included for those packages.  If you’re having a private shoot, I recommend scheduling a make-up session at the mall beforehand!
